Pride in Progress Award Nomination

Purpose

The Pride in Progress Award recognizes a local government professional for their work to inspire and connect the LGBTQ+ local government community. This award is intended to recognize both highly visible leadership and quieter, behind-the-scenes efforts that strengthen community, mentorship, belonging, and representation.

Accepting nominations June 16 - Aug 1. Selection and award notice will take place in September, and the award recipient will be formally recognized during the 2026 ICMA Annual Conference in Long Beach (Oct. 17–21).

Eligibility

Eligible nominees:

Identify as LGBTQ+
Local government professionals at any career stage
Employees of city, county, regional, tribal, or special district governments

Ineligible:

Current CivicPRIDE Board members serving during the award cycle
Selection committee members
Allies – we love you guys, but this one is for us 😊
